Norfolk Broads Boat Incident: Vessel Marooned After Collision with Riverbank.
Three individuals required assistance after their vessel collided with the riverbank along the Norfolk Broads.
The cruiser found itself "high and dry" after running aground between Berney Arms Windmill and Reedham.
The mishap occurred on 'The Island,' a vast expanse of marshland flanked by the rivers Yare, Waveney, and the New Cut, leaving the trio stranded for numerous hours. Post-collision, a crew from RNLI Great Yarmouth and Gorleston was summoned by Humber Coastguard at 8:30 PM on Tuesday. The team endeavoured to tow the cruiser back into the water, successfully transferring a line across.
After numerous attempts, the vessel was liberated and floated back into open waters.
Once the cruiser was back on the river, the skipper reignited the engine, and the boat was escorted back to the Goodchild Marine.
