Why is the best Navy in the world not allowed to do its job?
When V.E. is being commemorated across Europe, I can't help but wonder how those poor souls who lost their lives stopping the Nazis coming across the channel would feel knowing that 1000s of people namely men of fighting age are coming across the English Channel daily in dinghies and then being housed before the nations own.
Maybe it's not such an appropriate time to commemorate victory in Europe but more likely acknowledging a debacle and destabilising of Europe.
