Norwegian Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Engine Malfunction Over Norfolk

A Norwegian Air jet encountered an engine malfunction while traversing the skies above Norfolk, prompting the declaration of an emergency. The aircraft, which belonged to Norwegian Air Sweden, had departed from London Gatwick at 1:47 PM on Friday. Shortly after takeoff, it began circling the Norfolk airspace due to the engine issue.

A spokesperson for Norwegian Air explained, "One of our planes executed a precautionary landing at Stansted Airport due to an engine complication. The landing was without further incident, and all passengers safely disembarked at Stansted."

On Friday, Flight Radar 24, a live air traffic monitoring site, indicated that the flight had triggered a Squawk 7700 signal, denoting an emergency situation aboard the aircraft.
