The Broads Authority has announced plans to equip its staff with body-worn cameras in response to a surge in abusive and violent behaviour on the waterways. The authority is initiating a trial where these cameras will be provided to rangers patrolling the rivers by boat, quay rangers overseeing moorings, and officers involved in planning issues.
Officials believe that the cameras will deter anti-social and abusive behaviour and assist in collecting evidence for prosecutions.
