What Is A Wherry?

Post by Dances With Otters » September 15th, 2017, 5:18 pm

I thought I had this one in the bag but the term, 'Wherry', refers to many other different vessels other than the large sailing type that remain on the Norfolk Broads.
  • A light rowing boat used chiefly for carrying passengers.
  • A skif (a light rowing boat or sculling boat, typically for one person).
  • Any of certain kinds of half-decked commercial boats, various barges, fishing vessels, etc., used locally in England.
  • A sailing boat with a gaff rig, traditionally used to haul cargo in East Anglia.
⛵ Life is short, even on its longest day ⛵
