Norfolk Police confirmed that officers, along with paramedics and fire crews, responded to an incident on Lower Road, Rockland St Mary, near Norwich, at approximately 17:20 GMT on Tuesday.
A man in his 70s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have stated that the circumstances surrounding the incident are not considered suspicious.
Hemsby Lifeboat, which was also called to assist by Humber Coastguard, shared details of the incident on social media. Their post explained that upon arrival, they found that fire crews had already taken charge of the situation.
"As the new season approaches, we want to emphasise the importance of wearing lifejackets at all times when near or on the water," the lifeboat crew advised.
Emergency services responded promptly, with the East of England Ambulance Service dispatching two ambulances and two paramedic vehicles. Fire crews from Carrow and Sprowston were also mobilized to the scene.
