Carbon monoxide alarms onboard will be mandatory for cruising certain waterways in the UK

Post by Miles » October 30th, 2018, 8:08 pm

The Broads Authority has welcomed the introduction of mandatory CO alarms by the BSS.
In June 2016
While this measure should have been introduced when the wherries were put to rest, I have to wonder what the hire boat companies are going to do about all their boats running their engines at moorings.

Simple thing is, I have met people who have had their carbon monoxide alarms going off because of so many hire boats at stern on moorings running engines.

The sheer fact that you can taste the exhaust fumes in your own cabin from other boats tells me that at last finally we may be coming to the end of engines running at moorings.

FFS I hope so. :D
