I often forget about this lock.

It's worth going through, even if just the once for the experience. Takes about 20 mins to get into Lowerstoft from the lock, but to go under the Bascule bridge you need to radio port control to make them aware you're going through. 👍

Is there a fee and once through the other side could you moor up anywhere and chill out?
Looks a lot easier to exit this great waterways that way than through the veritable strong currents that is known as Great Yarmouth.

It is £13 each way. I came onto the Broads this way earlier this summer.

It was £12 when we went through Miles, but the prices went up mid October to £13. The price includes free same day return. If you come back the next day you have to pay again. There's no public moorings up there, but there are visitor moorings at the Yacht club just past the bascule bridge, I imagine they are quite expensive though. 👍
