River Taxis

Post by Dances With Otters » July 2nd, 2018, 6:38 pm

I saw recently someone asking about a river taxi at Potter Heigham which admittedly I had never heard of.
Are there any others on the Norfolk Broads?
I knew there used to be one from Norwich to Thorpe.
Seems a good idea that? Rather than hire a day boat, you could hire a taxi to take you to Nestishead for a munch up and then drop you back off at Stalham.

Taxi? Ferry? There is/was a ferry service between Beccles and Geldeston Lock. Big Green Dog or something like.

The difference being the ferries just travel between two fixed points The Potter taxi will pick you up and deposit you anywhere along the Thurne in Potter Heigham.

There is a passenger ferry in Horning in the Summer By the Ferry Inn, it I believe was appealing for"crowd funding" during the winter so I think that means it's not doing well...
