B.A. Clashes With Thorpe Council

Concerns about how the Broads Authority handled a council’s complaint could be submitted to a government review into national parks I was always puzzled by this particular staithe, even more so after the whole Jenner's Basin ordeal. The notorious eviction, which was always denied as being an exerci...

Pie & Pastie Rip-Off Gays Staithe/Neatishead

I must tell you about my disappointment with a chap flogging pies and pasties at Gays Staithe and Neatished in 2017 and 2018. In 2017, he would arrive by car wearing an apron and wander the staithe ringing a bell whilst declaring a local long history of family baking in Norfolk. On finding out the c...

Re: Mutford Lock

Is there a fee and once through the other side could you moor up anywhere and chill out?
Looks a lot easier to exit this great waterways that way than through the veritable strong currents that is known as Great Yarmouth.

Cranes Spotted River Ant

Multiple reports of cranes having being spotted near Hunsett Mill. :D
I have seen one in flight this week but was unable to identify it at the time because they fly with their legs out stretched to the rear and look like something quite odd in flight.

I find it hard to take people seriously with their environment agendas when they appear in a news article apparently claiming to be interested in protecting wildlife. For m...

Re: Vinyl Wrapping Boats

With the use of a rubber spreader and hot air, cars and boats are covered in a vinyl film.
You may have noticed London cabs and buses with such vinyl covered in adverts.
Often see it on Aston Martins and Porshes too,

Vinyl Wrapping Boats

Many may have heard of cars being vinyl wrapped but I see that boats have it done too. With the sheer cost in time, money and labour, surely vinyl wrapping boats must be an excellent idea on the boats of the Broads. A hull can be done in a day for starters, and when you compare that with gel coat, o...

Re: The Norfolk Broads Is In Its True Natural State

I went passed yesterday afternoon and saw all the boats moored up two/three abreast. I sighed with relief and a smile wrapped around my face with an inner .......yeeeeeeees :D It's Broads time!

Why The OCD Push For National Park Status?

Many are concerned about the Norfolk Broads switching to a national park status. Concerns may stem from lack of navigation maintenance and other causes, however, this N.P. push is across the British Isles and I suspect it is a covert way for stringent regulations to be introduced nationally. Without...
