Buying a boat and fixing it up in the UK on the Norfolk Broads was never planned at all, it was a total chance happening.
This is the first episode in my Norfolk Broads boat vlog, ‘Sailing High Seas’ and is all about living on a boat on the Norfolk Broads in England.
When this was filmed I had just had the yacht put back in the water after having spent two months on a boatyard painting the hull.
It was not the first time I was buying a boat and fixing it up but it was certainly the first time I had ever had a sailing boat and I was learning to sail.
It was a spur of the moment decision when I ended up buying a boat on the Norfolk Broads.
This was the beginning of what was to be a lengthy and very enjoyable time living on a boat on the Norfolk Broads and being lucky enough to escape the rat race and the boredom of it.
I start this video by introducing viewers to myself, my dog and my location. I then go and show the sailboat when I first bought it and also when it was lifted back in the water.
After showing before and after photos of the boat, I then start to learn how to sail on a lake called, ‘Sutton Broad’.
The sailboat in this video is a Bruce Roberts 27. It was built from plans. The boat build started in 1975 and was completed n 1980.
The inboard engine is a BMC 1500 diesel.
This is the introductory video in my ‘Sailing High Seas’ Youtube channel and the video was filmed in 2014 and continues to present time.
