When going out in a boat will we have to navigate through any locks on the Norfolk Broads?

There are indeed a number of locks on the older Norfolk Broads waterways.
There is only one active on a navigation channel and that is out to sea from Oulton Broad and no hire boat is permitted to use it. This is Mutford Lock.

The River Bure has the ruins of locks all the way to Aylsham which were destroyed by the 'Great Flood Of 1912'.

The North Walsham & Dilham Canal has 6 and these are disused too although very successful restoration is ongoing.

River Waveney had at least 3 too.
