I have been very fortunate to spend a considerable amount of time on the Norfolk Broads. Particularly on the northern rivers which is where I operate from these days. Although I spend most of my time restoring boats, I can go to the river at any time and do so most days.
I absolutely love the rivers and lakes on the Norfolk Broads...sure there are things that I don't like, in fact, quite a few things but the things I do like outweigh the negatives by a very long margin.
Here are some photos when I made my first boat trips on the Norfolk Broads. Actually I was learning to sail on Sutton Broad. I chose Sutton Broad because the wind seems to be blowing in exactly the same direction almost every day, not sure why but you can almost guarantee that as you head in the direction of Sutton Staithe, the wind is nearly always behind you. You can sail in and tack back out again. In some ways, it is better than Barton Broad because I have discovered that on Barton Broad a lot of boats don't stay on the right side of the navigation channel which makes collisions whilst sailing quite probable.
Short Term Discomfort, Long Term Gain...
