Diesel & Petrol Boats Getting Targeted

Post by Miles » January 17th, 2020, 10:01 am

I said just recently that boats with combustion engines would be targeted and it's already started.
Unfortunately the Broads Authority are trying the 'climate change and global warming' scam to charge boaters even more money for tolls so they can fund cutting down trees on private landowners property, fail to keep the navigation clear such as Stalham Staithe and the sunken houseboat on Sutton Broad which is still there.
Climates change and you should be worried if it didn't.
There is no denial of climate change but there is no evidence to support humans as having any involvement in such phenomenon.
There are other more important issues environmentally to consider and the very first issue would have to be pollution of the Norfolk Broads.
Removing rubbish bins was environmental suicide.
The River Waveney has been reported previously as being one of the most toxic rivers in England as it has been polluted by pesticides used in farming.
The fact that the Norfolk Broads has been flooding so badly screams out that the waterways require enormous levels of dredging.
Potter Heigham flooding could easily be handled by dredging but apparently it has been suggested that the Environmental Agency won't allow the dredged spoil to be dumped on the river banks because it is toxic.
What jurisdiction do the Broads Authority have to penalise boat owners who have combustion engines?
Technically speaking it is none of their business and nothing to do with their purposes.

In addition, don't forget you have a right to navigate tidal waters. No organisation has any jurisdiction to apply any levies to you for what form of propulsion you have in a boat.
This is an arbitrary and quite possibly illegal discrimination.
Everybody knows most of these engines on the Norfolk Broads are disgusting, however, that does not give the Broads Authority any jurisdiction in financially benefiting from this.
