River Waveney To Be Dredged

Post by Miles » March 6th, 2019, 1:36 am

The waterways of the River Waveney are to be dredged between April and July.
I am a little puzzled why this is being done during the busiest time of the year.
Surely it would have made sense to have done it during the quiet period, as in out of season especially with such a mild winter.
Furthermore boats are still banging and running aground on the River Ant going up to Dilham and have been since 2014 yet this seems to remain ignored.
With extremely limited public moorings in the River Waveney and the busy time of year, I would have to say this timing is very odd indeed and is most likely going to cause chaos.

My guess is it's because the southern rivers are nowhere near as busy as the Northern rivers. So they have the crew and equipment, sitting there in busy season where to go next?
