Excellent news, hopefully the Staithe will soon be returned to the pleasant ,peaceful, pretty mooring that it used to be .

Good that work is going to going on there. Potter Heigham has been a bit of a headache just recently for road users as coming from Gt Yarmouth the signs give you the impression that you have to go further on before turning left towards Potter. We did just that and ended up on a closed road. If coming from Gt Yarmouth by road, just turn left as normal and Lathams and the boat yards are open as usual. Not that good for really heavy vehicles because they would be restricted with regard to going on the bridge.

Its good news that they are clearing the boats from there , but what is to stop them returning and taking the Staithe over as they already have done.
What major works is being undertaken as they carried out a lot of work early this year and closed the road? :D :D :D

They have already put in two safety ladders and chains. Not sure who they is but must be council. The council are spending £30,000 on the grass verge believe it or not.
They are not dredging it because that costs £20,000 and that would be too sensible.
Broads Authority then take it over.
My information is sourced from attending a council meeting in the Stalham town hall and also from speaking to a councillor who lives on the staithe.
Apparently the overgrown parts that require dredging were totally clear some 16 years ago.
