well he's not on the BA mooring so he can't be told to move on after 24 hours!!!

or...

on another forum there have been reports of boats being cast adrift...

I think anyone caught untying a boat should get an immediate charge of willful criminal damage and potentially attempted murder.
A bit strong perhaps but with your kids onboard, your elderly parents or pets it is no laughing matter.
If someone was to untie a sailing boat at Yarmouth that had not demasted, the tide would turn that boat over and under the bridges.
It is totally unacceptable and I would urge anyone who sees such actions to report it immediately.

That particular boat is still more up there to this day.
