I think anyone caught untying a boat should get an immediate charge of willful criminal damage and potentially attempted murder.
A bit strong perhaps but with your kids onboard, your elderly parents or pets it is no laughing matter.
If someone was to untie a sailing boat at Yarmouth that had not demasted, the tide would turn that boat over and under the bridges.
It is totally unacceptable and I would urge anyone who sees such actions to report it immediately.

That particular boat is still more up there to this day.
