That’s annoying did the hire boat do much damage, varnishing takes a lot of time and effort.
And if it did will you be contacting the hire yard for recompense

A boat makes a big hole in the water in to which you throw money

They need to introduce a refundable damage deposit to replace the damage waiver. They also need to make the deposit large enough to make the hirers think about what they’re doing. Hire companies also need to ensure the hirers are competent. 20 minutes clearly isn’t long enough to achieve this from what I’ve seen this year.
I agree that these boats are too big also, especially when there’s not enough moorings for every boat in high season, the amount of boats rushing around at 5pm desperately trying to find a mooring is a joke, I actually feel sorry for some if these hirers, they are sent out unprepared in boats that are too big for the broads and aren’t told there’s not enough BA moorings for everyone at the height of the season.

Check this out!
The company which hit the boats (won't mention any names yet as I am not attacking individual companies but addressing the problem as a whole) will let you take a boat out with ZERO TUITION if you tell them you have been out on the rivers before.
See a problem here?
Boat was C039-7 and fled the scene.
If I had not been there, we all know own what would have happened....sweet F.A.
