Keep Dangerous Dogs On Leads

Post by Miles »

Got attacked by a dog yesterday.
I have spent the night in hospital and about to go into theatre under general anesthesia.
Totally unprovoked attack and dog locked on for a long time.
Please keep dogs on leads.
This could have been a child.

Hi Miles
So sorry to hear about the dog attack. I sincerely hope your operation goes ok, and that you will fully recover. I hope the owners were prosecuted and the dog destroyed. What type of dog was it? Once again take care and hoping you are getting better. Hopefully see you soon when I can get back up there on my boat.

Alan :)

It was a bull terrier, most likely Staffordshire bull terrier.
For the safety of others I must let the authorities deal with it.
Certainly will be wary about most dogs from now on with a view to being able to deal with similar situation and attempt to evade it. However, once they get you in their powerful teeth, it is no longer flight or fight but more ouch! This is going to hurt.

From now on, every dog of power without a lead I will assume as a threat and will let the walker know immediately.
With the owner's consent, the dog was dead within four hours of the police speaking to me.
The officer was exceptional and so too were the staff at Norwich hospital.
They are very professional.
