Boats Targeted By Thieves

Post by Miles » April 7th, 2020, 4:32 am

A boat was robbed of its outboard and was then deliberately untied to drift down the River Yare with it's powerful current.

Broads Best posted on Twitter that the vessel was recovered around the Reedham Ferry area.

I knew it was only a matter of time till some w*****s would see this lockdown as an opportunity to rob boats.

Boatyards that are preventing access to private boats are not helping.

Boats need attention and can not be parked up and left like cars.

What is the solution when people are on lockdown?

There is only one solution and that is to make sure somebody is on location 24/7.

Security on the Norfolk Broads needs to be upgraded.

The Police can not be everywhere at all times across 125 miles of waterways but most boatyards can make some measures to prevent anyone just wondering around helping themselves.

It's bad enough to hear that a boat was robbed but cutting it free to drift down the river just tells you how sick these robbing arseholes are.

Hope they get caught and thrown in prison.
