The End Of The Broads Authority?

Post by Miles » March 24th, 2020, 4:08 am

If the hire boat industry is to be suspended for the year 2020 which is looking more and more likely day by day, then nobody can expect the hire boat companies to toll hundreds of hire boats.
I don't think anyone can argue with that. If all the boats are sitting idle and not generating income then they are pretty much like a SORN road vehicle.
With that in mind, many people will now not be able to toll their boat simply because they are prevented from earning a living.
So if no tolls are paid on the Norfolk Broads, then there is no funding for the Broads Authority.
I would say the future of the Norfolk Broads is very unpredictable.
