Where Has Quality Manufacturing Gone? Cargo Starter Motors Review

Post by Miles » March 3rd, 2020, 8:24 am

I bought a brand new starter motor for a project sailboat recently.
It was not a Lucas but made by a company called Cargo who appear affiliated with Bosch.
I thought that sounds okay and costing nearly £140 it should be spot on.
When the parcel arrived I could see immediately that it was made in India...got to better than China right?
Fitted the Cargo starter motor and it started up as one would expect.
Within two days the starter motor was dead.
Are the days of quality engineering really over?
Where is the quality control?
And FFS let's stop allowing all this crap into the country.
