The Lion has replied to this on another forum, and has stated unless they made it unrefundable, it made it uneconomic to run the dyke. The charge is for overnight mooring (IIRC after 4pm). It's nowhere near as fast as Broadband, too many roundabouts, But it does give some better access to Broadland, or will do when it's complete. It's all gone very quiet of final opening I guess snow,rain, and the beast from the East have slowed things down a bit.

There are reports on another Broads forum of someone constructing a fuel polisher, made from:
An electric diesel Fuel pump, a fuel filter assembly, A demijohn ( to collect the water), and some copper and rubber pipes.
He claimed it was quite successful..
