Norfolk Broads Yacht Club hosted their last open event of the season

Post by Dances With Otters » October 12th, 2018, 5:53 pm

I think most folks would not necessarily think of sailing boats when people refer to, ' River Cruiser' but that they must be as Wroxham Broad just had the last regatta of this year's season.

Ultimately it came down to which boat had the better result in the last race, and so the Funnell Trophy was won by Frary in Stella, with Richard Lord second in Swallow and Tuckett third in Amaryllis.

They were called river cruisers long before motorboats became common

It's change over time
Wroxhams normal sailing /racing finished at the end of September
Frostbite sailing club have started sailing for the winter season down at Thorpe St Andrew.
Horning sailing club has their last sailing event this weekend. As do the East Anglian Cruising Club based at Thurne
Snowflake sailing club move into Horning sailing club from next weekend.
Hickling sailing club end for the winter mid November as do Beccles sailing club.
Coldham sailing club sail through to the end of December
