High Waters and Low Bridges: Flooding Persists on the Norfolk Broads.

In Norfolk Broads where waters flow,
A tale unfolds of woe and woe.
The floods are high, the bridges low,
Boats can't pass, it's quite the show.

Potter Heigham stands, although so small,
But boats below, they hit a wall.
No passage beneath, the water's call,
Only a canoe can pass through at all.

Wroxham too, with arch so tight,
Boats attempt with all their might.
But water rises day and night,
Under bridges, a futile fight.

Swans and otters, no longer swim,
They swing from branches on a whim.
Their watery world, now treetop dim,
A topsy-turvy, flooded hymn.

Boats now roam where fields once stood,
Around the bridges, through the wood.
No passage under, but life is good,
Just bring your Wellies...understood?

Hire boats large, on waters glide,
From bridge to bridge, they try to slide.
A watery journey, not far and wide,
A comical cruise, with humour beside.

Riverside houses, once so grand,
Now surrounded by waters, vast and unplanned.
Desirable no more, the houses stand,
In floodwaters deep, a soggy land.

Oh, Norfolk, with your humour dry,
In summer, drought is drawing nigh.
A hosepipe ban, oh me, oh my,
Irony floats, as boat tolls go high.
