Thanks for the interesting photo. I have always been intrigued by the gatehouse and windmill/windpump construction. No doubt the gatehouse was there first and the windmill/windpump was built many years later on the stable ground. I wonder if it was a pump or mill, it seems too high above the river to be a pump. Do we have any historians around to clear this up?
