What's The Difference In Engines Running?

Post by High Seas » March 8th, 2018, 1:51 pm

Many will know that I am a massive fan of being moored up next to any boat and having to listen to the delightful and melodic tones of a diesel engine running and filling the air around me with such fragrance of nostril olfactory wonders. I am at my best when it goes on for hours, it really adds to the ambience of the place.
However, I can't go but wonder why people freak out about cars running their engine with catalytic converters and particulate filters (DPF) but can not see the beauty of a beautiful unrefined exhaust of a boat bellowing out for hours on hours.
Surely, these car drivers, or should I say liveinhouses should spend some time on the rivers in the summer and see what it really means to be able to taste it.

Liveaboard or liveathome?.....that is the question

I get your point but NOX is NOX and far more cars run their engines than boats, but why do they always moor next to me?!
