More Sailing Boat Terminology.

I met these chaps last year as in summer of 2016.

I promised to find out what this stainless steel device was for and what it was all about.
Has anyone got a clue?

If I had to hazard a guess i would have said it was for some kind of tiller support but I really dont know as it has a jagged edge too.

Hi you are correct it is a tiller lock their are various types of similar design, there should be a T shaped stainless bracket that attaches to the bottom of the tiller that would then drop into any of the slots on the bracket attached to the transum
