Severe Weather Warning

Post by Dances With Otters » December 27th, 2017, 11:18 am

Got some winds from hell gusting today.
I am moored at Potter Heigham and the weather is very severe.
I would urge anyone with a boat on the Norfolk Broads to go check its lines today.
I have already lost my escape hatch canvas cover, wind took it clean off.
Water is very high too so expect flooding.
Not good, I only do sunshine.

It is a bit lively out there, forecast is for winds gusting to nearly 50 mph this afternoon.
A few boats have lost their tarps already.
On the brightside Miles, your sunshine is only about four months away....

I was going to take a slow cruise down to Yarmouth today, so glad I did not.
I heard on Sky news that there were 50mph winds too and I think they might have lowered that figure to get the post Xmas shoppers out as it most certainly exceeded that today at Potter Heigham.
Oddly enough, there have been a couple of boats come in to moor and I can only guess they got caught out as yesterday was clear skies but breezy.
Today is like a nuclear holocaust.......slight exaggeration but my nose is not growing.
