I was quite shocked when I read this earlier but when you put it into perspective it probably is not such a high figure at all.
120 miles plus of navigable waters, loads of dykes and Broads and endless reeds can obviously make for some hazards.
I would be curious what amount of drownings occurred at sea.
Anyway the RNLI have been busy training up staff at waterside businesses.
