Wood In River Bure - Mind Your Boat

Post by High Seas » January 20th, 2018, 8:45 am

I had a little spin up to Coltishall yesterday and if anyone is headed up this way, watch out for trees in the river Burr.
About half way up you can see all the cracked willow along the banks and some have come down in the river and are laying across it.
The day before I pulled most of a dead tree out by the King's head, so keep a look out for large logs floating around as they are in abundance.
Some of the trees have snapped like match sticks.

The route to the lock at Coltishall is totally blocked by fallen trees.

Only happened the other night and a ranger was up there today.
Amazed how many trees got snapped up here, literally like match sticks.
