Woods End Staithe

Post by Scardinus » January 6th, 2018, 6:49 pm

Went down to woods end Staithe a couple of weeks ago, which part if any are public, seemed to be a lot of no mooring and private signs, also very shallow, would it be the very small section on the right as you go in?

If you refer to the little place hidden on Barton? then yes, it is rather small but very handy to know. It is private behind that but turning there can be a bit tricky in low water.
I have not been there in ages.
It is marked on the Herbert Woods boat map, could be wrong but think it comes under Catfield. 🐈

Hit some branches or similar with the prop when I explored own there, only about 18" draft in the dingy, water was a horrible weak coffee colour, wouldn't like to see a 40ft hire craft attempt it!

Oh dear, that doesn't sound good. Perhaps with all the winds it's clogged up a bit

Nice one.
I am glad it is mini size as otherwise it would be full.
I have never walked off the Staithe but apparently you can.
