Flood Alert - The tidal River Waveney from Ellingham to Breydon Water
Issued by the Met Office
2 hours 28 mins ago
This message has been issued because we are continuing to see high water levels as a result of rainfall earlier in the week and high spring tides restricting the usual drainage of the Broads system. High levels in the Broads may last for a few days until the high tides have passed. The current series of high spring tides is now reaching its peak and will fall away over the next few days. High water levels are expected to drop with this afternoon's tide before rising again and peaking overnight. The highest levels will be observed in the area of Beccles Quay. We are closely monitoring the situation.
