Re: Wood In River Bure - Mind Your Boat

Only happened the other night and a ranger was up there today.
Amazed how many trees got snapped up here, literally like match sticks.

Re: Wood In River Bure - Mind Your Boat

The route to the lock at Coltishall is totally blocked by fallen trees.

Re: Barton Turf Moorings, River Ant.

This is Coltishall.
I wonder why launching a canoe is any issue to anyone?
A big fat rib or similar perhaps but a canoe, or even a kayak? I can't see why to be honest.

Get the Bins Back! FFS

IMG_20180120_095932.jpg Everybody knows about the bins going and it has p@@@@d absolutely everyone off. I personally totally sympathise with the Broad's Authority on this issue as it is not their doing at all with regards to having the bins removed. It's the councils. In addition, from what I can t...

Re: Barton Turf Moorings, River Ant.

I'll look into it, I will be down that way soonish. There is something similar at Irstead on the parish side. There is actually five people on the committee for that tiny side of mooring, the other side is BA. Sometimes this chap appears out of nowhere making the most ridiculous claims and asking th...

Wood In River Bure - Mind Your Boat

About half way up you can see all the cracked willow along the banks and some have come down in the river and are laying across it. The day before I pulled most of a dead tree o...

An Interesting Website

Joemasonspage.png I just stumbled across this website purely by chance. Joe Masons Page Blog. There are some great photos on it about ships in Norwich. With all this talk about cruise ships mooring up in Great Yarmouth, I have to wonder why Norwich is not more like Amsterdam and more welcoming to b...

Finalist in National Park of the Year awards

I am fully aware of just how much the Norfolk Broads means to so many people. I have met hundreds of people who have been coming here for decades and since they were children too. Jeremy Clarkson referred to it as a swamp and he is quite right but it is one of the best swamps. It is a gem in Great B...
