Re: Hoveton Viaduct Moorings Next To Go

The land adjacent to Hoveton St John moorings is owned by Roy's and leased to them for £1 per year. My understanding is that they insisted on the landowners paying for the public liability insurance which was refused by many private landowners. Resulting in many landowners saying, stuff it!. However...

Stalham Staithe Update

I have reason to believe that ownership of Stalham Staithe may have been transferred to the local council. I have yet to confirm this, however, I have no reason to doubt it. Perhaps now this wonderful historic staithe will be restored? In addition, John Williams boat yard has been transferred also t...

East Anglian Holiday Home Operator In Trouble

Dream Lodge Operator goes into administration. EDP Surely this must be an indicator of the hire boat industry as well? I say that as last year was a record year for temperatures..... The best weather ever hands down. However, at times the waterways were considerably quieter. I guess only time will t...

Re: Hoveton Viaduct Moorings Next To Go

Well the only thing increasing is my blood pressure as the tolls will be due again soon and I am totally dissatisfied with the Broads Authority.
Worse still I can't do anything about it as it is not a democratic agency. They are there and that's it, stuck with it and have to jump through their hoops.

Sydney Boating Regulations

I recently watched a video about the police patrolling Sydney harbour. Port Jackson I believe. Admittedly, it is extremely busy but the police have a very different approach entirely. Any reports or indications that a vessel is speeding or breaking any regulations and they are on top of them immedia...

Re: Hoveton Viaduct Moorings Next To Go

It is good that you got a reply or should I say two. Many I have met do not get any reply but I suspect the mention of forums may have prompted a swift response. I am a little concerned with the Broad Authority's statement to buy up property along the riverside. I think it may initially sound an hon...

Re: Little Switzerland

This is the High Low bridge area of Little Switzerland. The vast majority of the old chalk pit canals are located on private land However if you journey down to Granny Bards Lane there is a Public Bridleway which will take you to this area Once you get to the bridge the gates prevent access further ...
