Keeping The Peace With The Fisherman

Many will be aware that tensions do appear on the horizon sometimes when one wishes to moor. I could tell you some stories and I know frequent boaters on the Norfolk Broads could do exactly the same. The first thing to be clear is if a fisherman has a licence then they have just as much right to be ...

The Krays & The Broad's Canal

Many are unaware of the North Walsham And Dilham Canal and I would urge anyone interested in the Norfolk Broads and it's known history to look into the canal. This video is really quite interesting and I was very surprised to hear the Krays name mentioned in it. I can't help but wonder if they still...

Re: A Photo But What Does It Tell You?

No they don't give a toss In this spot alone you see swans nests and greylags nesting. The swans set themselves back a bit from the water but the geese are within inches. If people knew the devastation wash had on these nests alone, they would stop blaming the otters for bird population levels. A si...

The Great Ladder Debate

Mooring a vessel over a safety ladder is inexcusable. People who do this and prevent any person from getting in or out of the water should be fined on the spot. It is indeed possible to moor a boat's bow near to a ladder without preventing access. To moor a small boat and leaving space is in no way ...

Re: A Photo But What Does It Tell You?

The speeding of boats has caused fresh silt to deposit on the edges creating the reeds moving in on the channel. I noticed it last year but this year it has really moved in. It's an area of unregulated speeding and it shows the effects more clearly.

A Photo But What Does It Tell You?

I am not going to comment on this unless folks don't get it. If you need a clue? Native American folks realised that if they set fire to the earth, that's earth not the Earth, it would fertilise and cause growth of grass The buffaloes would come early. If the bank is eroded, it will form another ban...

Acle Project

I know this Acle project from the Broads Authority has been met with a negative responsive but one thing that has not come up is this. I went magnet fishing there yesterday. Went to both sides of the bridge by car. The speed limit over the bridge is 30mph As a guess I would suggest most drivers are ...

Re: Potter Heigham Bridge Height.

Apparently the height inside the pilot's shack is 9 inches in difference. Now I am confused by such a disparity. Unconfirmed of course but probable.

Potter Heigham Bridge Height.

Think I could get through there today.
Watched a woman trying to row through against the flow, quite hilarious really but fair play for trying. :D
